Gatefold (FOC) album cover design.
"Free-For-All" is the second release from Ted Nugent and his first album to go platinum. Rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist Derek St. Holmes left during the recording of the album due to growing conflicts between Nugent and himself, also citing the direction that the album was taking, as a reason. Holmes did sing on the tracks "Turn it Up", "Light My Way", "Dog Eat Dog", and an alternate version of "Street Rats", which was left unreleased until the 1999 Epic/Legacy reissue of the album. An unknown (at the time) vocalist named Meat Loaf was brought in to sing on some of the album's tracks that were meant for Holmes, Those tracks include "Writing on the Wall", "Street Rats", "Together", "Hammerdown", and "I Love You So I Told You a Lie". Nugent himself sang on the title track. Holmes would return to the group after the album was released for the subsequent tour.

Powerslave is the fifth studio album by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on September 2, 1984 on EMI in Europe and its sister label Capitol Records in the US. It is notable for its Egyptian theme displayed in the album art, as well in the title track's musical style. It contains a musical re-telling of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner", which uses pieces of the original poem as lyrics. Furthermore, it is the longest song Iron Maiden have ever recorded, at a length of 13 minutes and 34 seconds. The album is also notable amongst the band's albums as being the first to feature the same lineup as the previous one. "2 Minutes to Midnight" and "Aces High" were released as singles. World Slavery Tour was the tour supporting the album, which began in Poland, in August 1984.

"Steppenwolf 7" is the album by Steppenwolf, released in 1970. It is the first Steppenwolf album with new bass player George Biondo. While the album featured Steppenwolf's trademark rock and roll sounds, none of the songs were able to make the Top 40. The album featured a classic cover of Hoyt Axton's "Snowblind Friend", their second cover of one of his anti-drug songs (the first being the famous "The Pusher"). Other tracks such as "Who Needs Ya," "Renegade," and "Hippo Stomp" stand out as often-mentioned additions to their catalog.

"In Trance" is a 1976 album by German hard rock band Scorpions. This original version of the album cover clearly showed the cover model's bare breast hanging down towards the guitar. Later releases have the breast blacked out so that it is not visible. This is the first of many Scorpions album covers that have been censored

"Dimmu Borgir" is a Norwegian black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1993. Dimmu borgir means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. The name is derived from a volcanic formation in Iceland, Dimmuborgir. The band has been through numerous line-up changes over the years; guitarist Silenoz and vocalist Shagrath are the only founding members remaining.

On this album, the line-up expanded to a four-piece, with the addition of second guitarist Mick Tucker, former member of the NWOBHM band White Spirit. Thanks to Tucker's songwriting contributions and to the sound expanded by an extra guitar, the band changed their music in comparison with their previous albums with longer, more melodic compositions, which helped differentiate Tank from Motörhead, the band they were often compared to.[

"Master of Puppets" is the third studio album by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on March 3, 1986 through Elektra Records. The album peaked at number 29[1] on the Billboard 200 chart and was the group's first record to be certified gold for sales of over 500,000 copies. This was done without any radio airplay or the release of a music video. The album eventually was certified 6x platinum by the RIAA. Master of Puppets marks the last Metallica album with bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a bus accident while touring to promote the album. Megadeth is the American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1983. Founded by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine, bassist Dave Ellefson and guitarist Greg Handevidt following Mustaine's expulsion from Metallica, the band has since released 12 studio albums, three live albums, two EPs, 26 singles, 32 music videos, four compilations, and one box set. As a pioneer of the American thrash metal movement, Megadeth rose to international fame in the 1980s and was ranked as one of the "Big Four of Thrash" along with Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, who were responsible for creating, developing and popularizing the thrash metal sub-genre.
